Moe just celebrated his 52nd birthday last week, far surpassing the median life expectancy for his species, which usually live less than 37 years. Until his death this weekend, he was the longest-living hippo.
He also broke the record for the oldest hipo to have a new child. He is survived by his partner Karen, and four calves, two of whom still live at the BioPark…
