PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Sunday unofficially hit 90 degrees this afternoon, which beat the old record of 88 degrees. There will be a few more warm days this week before big changes bring falling temperatures and a chance of rain.
Lows will fall into the low 60s tonight before warming up into the upper 80s on Monday. The high temperature record on Monday is 91 degrees. Some high clouds will pass through at times from Tuesday through Thursday. While temperatures will remain above normal, clouds will knock a few degrees off highs, keeping them in the mid-80s.
A system moving through late week will bring rain to Arizona from Thursday evening into Saturday. While the best chance for rain and the highest amounts will likely be in southeastern California, western Arizona, and the mountains, there will be a chance of rain in the Valley on Friday and Saturday. At this point, rainfall amounts appear light (0.10 to 0.25 inches), but that could change. The timing for the Valley favors late Friday into Saturday, but that part of the forecast is still uncertain…
