San Francisco police are actively investigating a Saturday night shooting in the Outer Richmond district that left five individuals wounded, one with life-threatening injuries. The incident, which sent bystanders scrambling for cover, occurred outside a Safeway supermarket.

Authorities reported receiving calls about gunfire around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims near the grocery store. A man sustained life-threatening injuries, while four juveniles suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

All five were transported to a local hospital.

The sound of gunfire caused immediate panic among those in the vicinity. Nineteen-year-old Tommy Corcoran recounted to the San Francisco Chronicle that he sought refuge behind a log in Golden Gate Park after hearing the shots and witnessing people fleeing the scene.
