AKRON, Ohio — Food banks across Northeast Ohio are reporting a surge in demand as SNAP benefits remain frozen during the ongoing government shutdown, pushing more families to seek emergency food assistance.
The Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank says traffic has increased dramatically in recent days.
