Morris County, NJ – Rock and roll fans worldwide are now learning the cause of death for legendary KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, who passed away last month at the age of 74. According to the Morris County Medical Examiner’s report, Frehley’s death was attributed to blunt trauma injuries of the head sustained during a fall.
The iconic “Spaceman” guitarist died on October 16. In the weeks leading up to his passing, Frehley reportedly suffered two significant falls. The second incident, on October 6, was severe enough to prompt the band to cancel their remaining 2025 concert dates.
The medical examiner’s report further detailed that Frehley sustained fractures to his left temporal bone and bilateral occipital bone. Following this second fall, Frehley was placed on life support. His family made the difficult decision to remove his ventilator ten days later.
In the wake of his passing, KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley released a joint statement expressing their devastation. “He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history.
He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy,” they shared. “My thoughts are with Jeanette, Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”
The band reunited to honor their fallen comrade at his memorial service held in the Bronx, New York, a week after his death.
