MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A local community organizer and criminal legal reform advocate says the health of inmates at 201 Poplar is not being properly addressed following several Shelby County inmate deaths in 2025.
Christopher Steele became the tenth Shelby County inmate to die in custody this year after spending a week at Regional One hospital for an undisclosed reason, officials said Friday.
