Trooper injured after chasing Nissan going 130 mph down Sam Cooper

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A chase with law enforcement left a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) state trooper injured and caused another crash on a busy Memphis road.

A THP state trooper said he noticed a speeding white Nissan Maxima on I-40 around 8 p.m. on Sunday. When the trooper got close to the car, the driver sped away at over 100 miles per hour, according to the trooper.

The trooper hit his blue lights to pull the Nissan over, but the car continued to speed away, racing down I-40, “splitting lanes and reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour.”…
