It’s the 20th anniversary of the Kalamazoo Promise, and this free event at Northside Association for Community Development featured tables offering information on post-high school programs, such as IT support specialist apprenticeships, basic electrical training, and certified nursing assistant classes. The Promise pays for associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, career certificates, and apprenticeships. Students in Kalamazoo Public Schools apply for the Promise during their senior year of high school. Eligibility continues for 10 years after graduation from KPS…
