State foresters will conduct a prescribed burn to reduce the amount of flammable fuels on the forest floor in Lewis Ocean Bays Heritage Preserve this week.
According to Horry County Fire Rescue, the controlled burn will be conducted Nov. 10-14, and will require a temporary road closure on International Drive in the Carolina Forest area due to smoke from the fire.
The closure will run from Highway 90 to the area of Ocean Bay Elementary School on International Drive, and will begin at 8 a.m. on the first morning of the burn, according to the county…
