Richmond’s Salvation Army cold weather shelter opens early

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – With freezing temperatures on the horizon this week, Richmond city leaders are taking steps to ensure no one is left without shelter.

Richmond mayor, Dr. Danny Avula, addressed the city’s strategy to aid those affected by the shutdown this past Friday.

“The downstream effect of not having funds for permanent supportive housing for transitional housing more people may potentially end up on the street,” Avula said…
