$2M bond set for man accused of stabbing a woman and assaulting the officer arresting him

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A man is behind bars after allegedly cutting a woman, threatening her and her daughter’s lives, and attacking the police officer who attempted to arrest him.

On Monday, Deonte Smith appeared in Jackson Municipal Court, where Judge Jeffrey Reynolds awarded him a $2 million bond.

Smith is being charged with one count of felony aggravated domestic violence, burglary of an occupied dwelling, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer…
