It’s a chilly Monday across South Texas, but big weather changes are coming

Before you walk out the door Monday morning, be sure to grab a coat, as the coldest air so far this fall has moved into South-Central Texas. While most across the region will stay above the freezing mark, much of the Hill Country could briefly fall below 32 degrees.

Temps will stay well below average all day before tonight brings another winter-like chill. After that, however, another big shift in the weather pattern is on the way. Temperatures by the end of the week could rise back up into the mid-80s. Here’s how the week will play out.

Monday’s forecast

San Antonio temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 30s to around 40 degrees between 5 and 7:30 a.m. The wind will be weaker than it was Sunday, but a 10 mph breeze will still cause “feel-like” temps to fall into the low 30s in the metro area.

As you move outside of the urban center, especially outside of Loop 1604, temperatures will be a few degrees colder, with wind chills likely falling in the upper 20s.

The Hill Country will be the coldest spot in South-Central Texas, and a freeze warning has been issued for the region until 9 a.m. Monday morning. Cities such as Fredericksburg, Kerrville and Boerne will see temps drop slightly below the freezing mark of 32 degrees, and a few isolated spots could fall as low as 26 degrees…
