ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Several communities across the Capital Region will come together to celebrate the courage and bravery of the nation’s veterans on November 11. In honor of Veterans Day, the Albany area has multiple ceremonies planned for community members to attend and thank some of the military’s heroes for their service.

Albany
Albany Law School will host its Veterans Day celebration on November 11 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the school on New Scotland Avenue. The event includes a trolley tour of Albany’s historic military sites, a live performance from the Colonie Town Band, and complimentary refreshments.
Also in Albany, the USS Slater will host a ceremony on the ship, which starts at 9 a.m.
Saratoga Springs
The VFW Post 420 in Saratoga Springs is hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11 at 10 a.m. Officials will gather at the VFW’s plot in Maplewood Cemetery on Louden Road, followed by a luncheon at Augies Restaurant on Lake Avenue.
Amsterdam
The Amsterdam Veterans Day Parade will take over Guy Park Avenue at 10 a.m. on November 11. The march down the historic avenue will be closed out by the Amsterdam Marching Rams and followed by a ceremony in Veterans Park at 11 a.m.
Malta
GlobalFoundries will recognize veterans in the semiconductor workforce industry on November 11 at 10 a.m. in the GlobalFoundries Malta office’s cafeteria. During the ceremony, representatives from the manufacturer will provide updates on their efforts to support veterans, with assistance from the GlobalFoundries U.S. Employee Veterans Resource Group.
Cohoes
The city of Cohoes is hosting a ceremony on November 11 in Veterans Park, located on Columbia Street, at 2 p.m. to honor local heroes.
Lake George
The Fort William Henry Museum is honoring the nation’s service members, past and present, with a Field of Flags display. The display also features a wreath-laying ceremony on the hotel lawn at 10:30 a.m., which will be completed with a musket volley by reenactors. There’s also a lunch buffet after the ceremony for $24 per person, which benefits the Adirondack Vet House.
Rotterdam
Rotterdam’s 66th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony starts at 2:30 p.m. on November 11, outside Rotterdam Town Hall. The community is invited to gather at the Veterans Monument, or the second-floor town board room in case of rain.
Queensbury
SUNY Adirondack will honor the nation’s heroes on November 11 with a special Veterans Day Ceremony. Starting at noon in the Northwest Bay Conference Center of Adirondack Hall, college and elected officials will speak to students and members of the Queensbury community.
Poughkeepsie
Dutchess County will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on November 11 in front of the Dutchess County War Memorial. The memorial is located near the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Main Street in Poughkeepsie.
Pittsfield, Massachussets
The Pittsfield Veterans Day Parade steps off onto North Street at 10 a.m. on November 11. The march will proceed down North Street, turn onto South Street, and conclude at Veterans Park.
City officials and community members are invited to a memorial ceremony at 10:45 a.m. in the park following the parade. Pittsfield Community Television (PCT) will be televising the event on CityLink 1303 and PCTV Select through the PCT’s website and other streaming services.
Bennington, Vermont
