17-year-old killed in Limestone Co. wreck identified as fire department cadet

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A 17-year-old from Athens was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials shared with WAFF 48 News that the teenager was fatally injured when their truck left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Officials say the teen was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
