Today was a cold and nippy day with wind gusts up to 40 mph across the CSRA. Temperatures reached 53 degrees at Augusta Bush Field.
Tonight is the big story for today. Overnight low temperatures are forecasted to drop to 25 degrees. We are expecting a hard freeze, and counties across the CSRA are in freeze warnings, cold weather advisories, and special weather statements ahead of tonight’s anticipated freeze. Make sure to prepare for this freeze by bringing your plants and pets inside. If you have sensitive pipes, make sure they are protected. Pipes typically don’t freeze until temperatures drop below 20 degrees, but it is always a good idea to air on the side of caution with sensitive pipes.
