Indiana cemetery worker denies vet’s funeral over divorce fears for working on Saturday

WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WKRC) — An Indiana cemetery worker denied a veteran’s funeral over fears of divorce for working on a Saturday.

According to WXIN, Diane Pervine-Brown of Whitestown, Indiana, was left shocked and frustrated after a counselor at Lincoln Memory Gardens reportedly told the family that a burial was not an option during a conversation sometime in October.

“He said, ‘My wife, I would get killed if I worked on a Saturday. My wife does not want me to work on Saturdays. You don’t want me to get a divorce, do you?’” Pervine-Brown recalled the worker telling her. “Meanwhile, my sister said, ‘That is not our problem.’”…
