STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An Iredell County man was arrested after being accused of being involved with stolen construction equipment out of Mecklenburg County.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Peppercorn Lane in Statesville after a report of several other items being stolen from an abandoned field, including a John Deere backhoe.

When deputies arrived, they confirmed the equipment had been stolen out of Mecklenburg County just a few weeks earlier. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division came out to process the scene and gather evidence.
While detectives were working, a vehicle allegedly entered the area but quickly tried to leave after spotting law enforcement. Deputies stopped the car and say they identified the driver as 30-year-old Brett Michael Myers of Statesville…
