Bluffton Police officer charged with domestic battery accused of strangulation, pointing a firearm

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WANE) – The Wells County Coroner, who also works as a Bluffton Police officer, is facing Level 6 felony counts of strangulation and pointing a firearm, as well as a misdemeanor count of domestic battery stemming from an incident that happened at a Bluffton home last week.

Indiana State Police arrested Clifford Thomas, 49, on Monday without incident.

Thomas is accused of battering someone Nov. 6 while off duty, according to a release from the Indiana State Police. Booked into Wells County Jail, Thomas was listed as being an inmate there as of late Monday afternoon though his mugshot was not available…
