HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — There’s a new daytime and overnight warming shelter in High Point for people to find space and resources as winter approaches.
The Oakwood Community Day Center has been years in the making and celebrated officially opening the first week of November.
It’s located at 2018 W. Green Dr., south of Market Center Drive and inside the same building that houses the Alleluia Ministries International Church. The center is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is also a designated white flag center that will open overnight when temperatures drop below freezing, and it will specifically serve women with children for overnight needs…
