Freeze warning issued for Alachua County: ‘Take care of everything that’s alive’

A freeze warning will be in effect for Alachua County on Nov. 11. from midnight to 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The area also will be under a cold weather advisory on Nov. 11 from 2 to 8 a.m.

Residents can expect sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 degrees, with a wind chill as low as 20 degrees.

A freeze warning is issued when temperatures are forecasted to drop below 32 degrees for an extended period. Such low temperatures can kill some types of commercial crops and residential plants.
