LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing city officials are moving “as quickly as possible” to identify a location for a “pod village” to help people experiencing homelessness to move into permanent housing.
“You know, they’re working on location now, and that is the most important piece of this puzzle,” said Lansing Mayor Andy Schor. “I really believe that not everybody, but most people believe that this is the right thing to do. It’s just a matter of where.”
Schor said officials in the city’s Human Relations and Community Services are currently reviewing “30 to 35” properties – both public and private – as possible locations for the 50 modular mini-homes.
