MURRIETA, CA – On the morning of November 5, 2025, the Murrieta Police Department responded to an assault and homicide reported at a residence on Old Spring Road. The department’s Communications Center received a 911 call at approximately 8:18 a.m.
The caller reported that an unknown person had entered the home and attacked both her and her husband. The reporting party indicated she had been stabbed in the head with a screwdriver, while her husband had been stabbed with a knife. The caller also informed authorities that her husband appeared to be deceased and the suspect had fled through the back door. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with short hair, a beard and mustache, wearing a black shirt, black pants, and barefoot.
Officers arriving at the scene confirmed that the 70-year-old husband was deceased. They arranged for medical aid for the reporting party and began a search of the neighborhood for the suspect. At approximately 8:57 a.m., officers located a male matching the description in a ravine behind a nearby residence on Wild Flower Drive. The individual failed to comply with officers’ commands and concealed himself in nearby bushes.
