1 red-light ticket turns into 3 holds and red tape for Pinellas County man

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WLFA) — A Pinellas County man has been unable to legally drive his three vehicles since August, after discovering three holds on his registration.

Ryson Colclough said he went to his local DMV office to renew and discovered a hold from a red-light ticket that a relative received in his car. He said he thought it had been paid but learned it was not.

Colclough said he paid immediately and was told the hold would be released within 24 hours, but when he went back, he learned there were three holds for the same red-light ticket, and two remained.

“They said within 24 hours the stop would come off, I could be able to go and register the vehicle. I went to the tax collector’s office the next morning to try to register. They said there’s still two hold(s) on there and they can’t do anything about it,” he said…
