(KRON) — Two people were arrested for murder on Nov. 6 in connection to a 32-year-old cold case in Alameda County.
On June 17, 1993, 30-year-old Modesto native Zachary Jackson was found shot to death inside his home in an unincorporated area of Hayward. The case remained unsolved until detectives with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit recently developed new leads in the case.

The new evidence “renewed momentum in the investigation,” the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said in an announcement of the arrests Monday.
The suspects 54-year-old Veronica Fonseca and 56-year-old Anthony Fox were both arrested out of state. They were charged with murder and are awaiting extradition to California.
Fonseca was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at her home in Queens, New York. Fox was arrested the same day by the Sioux City Police Department after leaving his home on foot.
