A 62-year-old man died early Sunday after his pickup truck hit a median in Chatham on Chicago’s South Side. Police and paramedics responded around 3:39 a.m.; the driver was taken to the University of Chicago hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
As reported by ABC7 Chicago, the crash happened in the 8700 block of S. Lafayette Avenue near the Dan Ryan Expressway and involved a black pickup that appeared to strike the median. Police told the station it was unknown whether any other vehicles were involved and shared a few additional details.
