Green Bay sober-living program hosts fundraiser to support families in recovery

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A fundraiser was held in Green Bay on Sunday to help a sober-living program for women and children continue to give recovering families the help they need.

Local Five was at Amanda’s House on 825 N. Webster Avenue, where officials with the program hosted their annual Soup, Bread, & Dessert Fundraiser.

Former WFRV meteorologist Tom Mahoney passed away. He was 75

The event featured $12 hearty, homemade meals, including two cups of soup, bread, crackers, and a dessert. All proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to Amanda’s House, which is looking to expand its services with some much-needed renovations.

The addition is incredibly important. I mean, without that, we won’t be able to serve more women and more families, and that is the main part of our goal and mission of our organization. So to be able to serve double of what we’re serving now, we’re currently serving 8 families, to be able to double that would be tremendous for the community.
