Veterans Day is a way to honor those who served honorably in the military. Officially observed on Nov. 11 every year, Veterans Day marks the anniversary of the ending of World War I fighting, which went into effect at 11 a.m. Nov. 11, 1918, the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th of the month.
