Sequitur Winery in Willamette Valley

During my most recent trip to Oregon, I visited the incredible Willamette Valley for my second time which never disappoints! One winery that stood out and I was beyond thrilled to visit was Sequitur Winery led by the acclaimed Michael Etzel. Breathtaking views, beautifully designed space, rustic charm, and incredible wines. Those of you familiar with Oregon Wines will know of the adored Michael Etzel formerly at Beaux Freres. His newest brand Sequitur meaning “it follows” is the creation of Michael Etzel and Carey Critchlow’s, located in Oregon’s Ribbon Ridge AVA.

Sequitur Wines

Nestled in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Sequitur Winery offers one of the most memorable wine tasting experiences in the region. From the moment you arrive at their stunning Ribbon Ridge location, you’re greeted by breathtaking views of rolling vineyard-covered hills that seem to stretch endlessly into the distance. The tasting room itself is an architectural gem—a beautifully designed space that blends modern elegance with rustic charm, featuring a converted grain silo with a spiral staircase that adds a unique touch to the contemporary structure. Large windows frame the picturesque landscape, making every sip feel like part of a larger sensory experience. It’s also family run which always adds to me falling in love with a brand and their story.

The staff at Sequitur truly elevated our visit from great to exceptional. Knowledgeable without being pretentious, they guided us through each wine with genuine passion and insight, sharing stories about the vineyard’s history and their winemaking philosophy. Their warmth and enthusiasm made us feel like welcomed guests rather than just customers, and they took the time to answer our questions and tailor recommendations to our preferences. It’s clear that everyone here takes pride in what they do, and that dedication shines through in every interaction.

The highlight of the tasting? Meeting Michael Etzel himself…
