Sheriff: Arson suspect shot by deputy near Sandy, hospitalized

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – An arson suspect is recovering in a hospital after he was shot by a deputy near Sandy on Sunday night, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 9:45 p.m., deputies were called out to an arson on Southeast 362nd Avenue, near Southeast Dee Zee Court. The sheriff’s office said a 911 caller reported that his 44-year-old son had set a utility trailer on fire.

A deputy, along with an Oregon State Police trooper, found the suspect just before 10 p.m. The sheriff’s office says a shooting occurred and the suspect was shot by the deputy…
