The Lake Gaston area-based Sew Blessed quilting group is emphatic about helping veterans in need. In the last several years, the 501(c)(3) organization has gifted hundreds of patriotic quilts to the Durham Veterans Administration Hospice Unit.
Kohl, a member of the American Legion Post 308 Auxiliary and the wife of Post Commander Dick Kohl, spearheads the effort to send quilts to the Durham VA Hospice Unit.
