An Alabama man known for providing free lawn care to those in need, and teaching today’s youth to do the same, is hoping to mow the Arlington National Cemetery as a way to honor the veterans who rest there.
Huntsville’s Rodney Smith Jr. is the founder of Raising Men and Raising Women Lawn Care Service, a nonprofit organization that works with kids to provide free lawn care to the elderly, disabled, single mothers, veterans and more. To date the service has provided care to more than 15,000 yards across the country.
On Sept. 16, Smith Jr. began a tour of all 50 states to provide free lawn care to veterans, active duty service members, Gold Star families and widows in each state, but the Huntsville resident is hoping he can add a special stop in Arlington, Va., as well to mow the Arlington National Cemetery…
