Kayak drowning is year’s 25th boating fatality

A man drowned when his kayak capsized during a recent outing on Cheatham Lake, becoming the state’s 25th boating-related fatality of the year.

Officials said the 21-year-old Texas man was kayaking with his brother when the accident occurred. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency investigators said he was not wearing a life jacket.
