RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Bastionpoint Technology, a Richmond-based company, has donated a new $10,000 camera security system to Colonial Heights Animal Control Shelter for free to deter illegal animal dumping.
In August, a dog was found abandoned outside of Colonial Heights Animal Control Shelter, attached by a leash to a fence. Staff at the shelter found that the dog was underweight and had a raw muzzle.
It is illegal in Virginia to abandon or dump an animal, and doing so is a misdemeanor…
