City of Savannah to distribute 1,400 food boxes

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The City of Savannah will distribute 1,400 food boxes throughout all six Alderman Districts.

For three days, the city will distribute 1,400 food boxes at different locations to support households affected by the reduction in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Partial SNAP benefits to be issued in November

This effort is in partnership between the City of Savannah and Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, where the city provided a $50,000 grant to Second Harvest to assist with the pre-packaged food boxes.
