SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield Police recovered a stolen vehicle November 8, that was reportedly with the assistance of a Flock camera, also known as a License Plate Reader.
According to a statement released by the city, the camera located at 28th Street and Olympic Avenue detected the stolen vehicle at approximately 11:41 a.m. on November 8. The city said the incident occurred despite theirs prior decision to deactivate all Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras while community discussions about the technology’s use continue.
