Homeowner Shoots Intruder During Attempted Burglary in North Phoenix

A home invasion in north Phoenix was abruptly ended Sunday morning when the homeowner fired at the intruder, who had forced entry into the residence. According to ABC15, the incident occurred near 40th Street and Thunderbird Road. Police were first summoned for a burglary at around 9 a.m. and then called back to the scene shortly after to reports of a shooting in the same vicinity.

Details surrounding the shooting suggest that the homeowner had to instantly react to protect their property after the suspected burglar made his way inside. The suspect was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
