Paris Jackson Gets Real About Past Drug Use, Reveals “Perforated Septum”
Paris Jackson, the 27-year-old daughter of the late music icon Michael Jackson, is pulling back the curtain on her past struggles with addiction, revealing a “perforated septum” caused by prior drug use. In a candid TikTok video that has resonated with fans, Jackson used her phone’s flashlight to highlight the lasting physical impact of her journey.
“I have a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose,” Jackson explained in the clip, pointing out the distinct difference between her condition and a deviated septum. “And that is because I have what is called a perforated septum.”
She didn’t mince words about the cause, directly addressing the camera: “That is from what you think it’s from. Don’t do drugs, kids.” The “American Horror Stories” actress confessed that her past drug use “ruined my life” and emphatically stated she “didn’t recommend” it.
Jackson, who is now six years sober, shared that while she has overcome addiction, she continues to live with its consequences. She has no immediate plans for surgery to correct her septum, citing the need to avoid pills associated with such a “gnarly” procedure.
The condition, which she’s had since she was 20, can even interfere with her music career, which she jokingly called “a b—-.” To illustrate the extent of the damage, the musician added that she could “thread a spaghetti noodle through” the hole in her septum.
This isn’t the first time Jackson has spoken out about self-acceptance and resilience. Just last September, she took on critics who mocked her sheer dress during Paris Fashion Week.
“I don’t really understand why the human body is a driving force for such discomfort in so many people,” she stated at the time. “It’s just a body.
It’s just a body on a human, which is an animal.”
A vocal animal advocate and practicing vegan, Jackson has previously clapped back at social media comments deeming her “old” and “haggard.” In a defiant video, appearing makeup-free and with her hair in a messy bun, she responded, “this is no filter no makeup and regular lighting for the people that wrote really s—– comments about how old and haggard I look in my last video.”
She concluded with a touch of humor, “I am literally 25. Just young and haggard, thank you very much.”
Representatives for Jackson have been contacted for further comment.
