ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- On Sunday people came together at Townsend Park in Albany to protest the lapse in SNAP benefits and hold a food drive in support of the community.
People at the rally said they are upset that millions of Americans are being denied food.
“This is affecting everyday people,” said Bryan Paz-Hernandez, co-facilitator of the group No Kings Collective Albany. “One in nine New Yorkers rely on SNAP and you can assume that thousands of families here in Albany also rely on SNAP. So this is so real.”…
