ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Winter weather swept through Western North Carolina Monday and Tuesday, leaving a patchwork of snow and ice across the region. Totals ranged from a light dusting of a few tenths of an inch in areas like Candler and Waynesville, to more than 7 inches near Faust in Yancey County, with much of the Asheville metro seeing around an inch of accumulation.
