Community honors those who have served at Veterans Day ceremony in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Veterans, families, and community members came together at the Michigan Army National Guard Armory Tuesday to honor those who have served.

From music and marches to moments of silence, the annual Veterans Day Celebration, hosted by the Kalamazoo Veterans Coalition and the Rotary Club of Kalamazoo, brought together service members from multiple branches, state leaders, and local organizations.

“This event is about reflection and gratitude,” Kellie Cody, “Veteran of the Year 2025” and SP5 U.S. Army, said. “I feel honored to be a part of this. Watch for the Coalition of Veteran Services as we begin to grow, and if you have an interest in helping veterans, we have a lot of opportunities right now.”
