NYC Firefighter Dies After Suffering Cardiac Arrest Battling Blaze

According to FDNY Fire Commissioner Robert S. Tucker, Firefighter Patrick Brady, who served with the department for 11 years, died in the line of duty on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Brady was operating on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Hwy when he went into cardiac arrest, the FDNY said. Fellow firefighters and EMS personnel immediately began lifesaving efforts before transporting him to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he later died.

Brady was appointed to the FDNY on July 14, 2014, and after graduating from the Fire Academy, was assigned to Engine 227 in Brooklyn. He transferred to Ladder 120 in 2022…
