Veterans Day Tribute At Intrepid Museum Honors Service

A Veterans Day tribute is taking place today at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Manhattan’s West Side. The ceremony, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., will feature a wreath-laying in the Hudson River to honor the sacrifices of those who have served in the armed forces. Veterans, along with New York City’s Veterans’ Services Commissioner James Hendon, will attend the annual event. Hendon will deliver remarks during the ceremony, which is open to all Intrepid Museum ticket holders and will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

According to the Intrepid Museum, the event will also include remarks from Susan Marenoff-Zausner, President of the Intrepid Museum, and Rear Admiral Stephen Barnett, Commander of Navy Region Mid-Atlantic. The ceremony is a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served the United States, reminding them that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

In addition to the ceremony at the Intrepid Museum, New York City is hosting a Veterans Day Parade, commemorating 250 years of military service. The parade will feature 280 marching units, 20,000 marchers, 25 floats, and vintage vehicles, representing every branch of the military and youth cadets.
