Florida prepares for 16th execution of the year as debate over death penalty intensifies

Jason Futch [email protected] On Tuesday, Oct. 28, Norman Merle Grim, who was sentenced to death for the 1998 murder of Cynthia Campbell in Santa Rosa County, met his date with the executioner. Grim was executed at Florida State Prison in Raiford, Fla., by lethal injection. He was pronounced deceased at 6:13 p.m.. Grim’s execution, which was met with no resistance from him or his legal team after waiving all appeals, was the 15th execution in the state, with two more scheduled for this month, including that of Bryan Fredrick Jennings, who is set to be executed Thursday, Nov. 13.
