Man sentenced to up to 9 years for Eastwood Road hotel robbery

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – One of two men accused of robbing a hotel on Eastwood Road has been sentenced.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, 28-year-old Noah Gray Hite pleaded guilty on Nov. 4 for breaking into the Suburban Extended Stay Suites on Eastwood Road and robbing an employee who worked there.

The DA’s office reports that officers from the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) arrived at the hotel around 6 a.m. They interviewed an employee who had reported the robbery, who mentioned hearing a loud bang at a rear door typically used by staff.

“When he went to investigate, he discovered that two men wearing hoodies and face coverings had entered the building,” the DA’s office stated in a press release. “The men held the victim at knifepoint while demanding money and access to the hotel’s safe.”…
