WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Officials at UNC Wilmington say there is no truth to social media rumors claiming U.S. Marines were being jumped or targeted by fraternity members.
University leaders say UNCW Police worked with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and local law enforcement after receiving a small number of calls and emails expressing concern about the allegations. After what officials describe as an extensive review, they determined the claims to be completely unfounded.
