DOUGLAS COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a KU student have made an arrest.
After an extensive investigation, which included examining evidence and responding to numerous tips from the public, on Sunday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the suspected vehicle and driver, identified as 36-year-old William Klinger, involved in Thursday’s hit-and-run crash outside of Lawrence.
The crash killed 20-year-old University of Kansas student Elsa McGrain, according to sheriff’s department spokesman Officer George Diepenbrock.
