As plans to create a sports and entertainment district in downtown San Antonio unfold, Councilwoman Sukh Kaur is eyeing a Hemisfair property as a possible site for affordable housing.
Kaur said she has spoken with city staff and Hemisfair leaders about soliciting proposals from developers to build lower-priced housing on an empty parcel along South Alamo Street north of the Magik Theatre.
It would be near Civic Park, Yanaguana Garden and a Spurs arena that is slated to be built at the former Institute of Texan Cultures site…
