Portland Police Successfully Monitor South Waterfront Protests with No New Arrests

Last night at the South Waterfront, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) sent its Incident Command Team (IMT) to watch the demonstrations. According to a press release, the Crowd Management Incident Commander (CMIC) led the operation. The team included the Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Dialogue Liaison Officers (DLOs). The DLOs, wearing white shirts, helped communicate between police and protesters.

The PPB reported that the evening passed without any major incidents and that no one was arrested. They noted, however, that overall, protests at South Waterfront have resulted in 67 arrests so far. The Bureau also clarified that, in line with PPB Directive 810.10, it does not enforce immigration laws but continues to focus on public safety and enforcing state laws…
