TWO CAR MEETS THIS WEEKEND

RENO, NV (Nov. 9) — Great weather set the stage for car meets this weekend. In our area there were a pair, one each day.

• Saturday began when the Vintage Euro Cars & Coffee met at the Summit Mall. This time they were toward the south end by the new Starbucks.

One of the cars on display was a De Tomaso Pantera. Painted bright red it certainly got its share of attention. The car is being watched as the owner is out of the country.

The motor was bright and chromed. According to the gentleman that brought it, and who owns at least one more of them, the motor is easy work on.

Not far away was a quartet of BMW’s. Behind these four were some more BMW sedans.

Another car was a British Triumph sports car. It’s owner, once he got parked then opened the hood so everyone could see the motor.

The motor was very clean and the owner said he was going to put in a new distributor, one that’s electronic.

Another British car was a Bug Eye Sprite. Years ago these were very popular both for street use and road racing. This one has a non-standard top.

Keeping with the British theme there was a beautiful Jaguar XK sedan in the mix. The opened trunk had a lot of information about the car.

All in all the turnout was very good and the great weather helped. The next meet for this group is on the second Saturday in December, weather permitting…
