A new Valley Metro survey shows improvement in ridership experience. That’s paired with a drop in light-rail security incidents as more safety measures have been put in place.
The vast majority of around 1,100 riders surveyed said they feel safer, noting more visible security, cleaner stations and fewer unsafe situations.
According to Valley Metro, crime is rare but extra security measures have helped the overall rate of incidents drop more than 50% year over year. Bus operator assaults have also dropped more than 60% in the first half of 2025, in comparison to the last half of 2024…
